Tyler police said Monday that Ronchekal Yon allegedly was intoxicated, put vodka in a cup and gave it to the year-old boy while the mother was present at their home.
One of her relatives arrived Saturday and called 911. Police say Demarion Crow had a blood alcohol level higher than 0.20, or more than twice the legal limit for an adult to drive.
Yon has been charged with injury to a child, with bond set at $100,000. Online records did not list an attorney for him.
Police say the boy will be placed with Child Protective Services when discharged from a hospital. Further details weren't released Monday.
