Meeting called to discuss rave shooting

HOUSTON

Ryan Spikes, 18, was shot as he was leaving the party early Wednesday morning in southeast Houston.

Up to 600 people are estimated to have attended the party, which was highly advertised on social media sites.

The shooting happened as police officers tried to break up the crowd.

Spikes' killer remains on the run.

Monday's meeting will be held at Cullen Missionary Baptist Church at 6:30pm. The church is located at 13233 Cullen Boulevard on Houston's south side.

Councilmember Wanda Adams will be there along with Houston Police Chief Charles McClelland.

The goal of the meeting is to talk about ways to prevent something like this from happening again in the community.
