Today is match day for medical students

HOUSTON

For one med school student here in Houston it's just another step in his young career. Irving Basanez finished high school in three years. Then, three years later, he graduated college at the age of 19. He was the youngest student ever admitted to the UT Health Medical School.

Now, four years later, he's learning where he's going to use all that training, along with more than 200 other students in the UT class of 2012.

The match day event kicks off this morning at 10:30am in the Webber Plaza.

Also, four-year medical students at Baylor College of Medicine will find out their fate. Their ceremony will begin at 10:30am at the courtyard of the medical school.

'Match Madness' continues with the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. It was the same class that arrived at the island just weeks before Hurricane Ike. That event there kicks off at 11am.
