Mexican man pleads guilty in Texas-NY drug case

BROWNSVILLE, TX

Prosecutors in Brownsville say 53-year-old Juan Becerra Vallejo faces a minimum 10 years in federal prison when he's sentenced in June. Vallejo pleaded guilty Wednesday to possession with intent to distribute cocaine. He could also be fined $4 million.

Investigators say Vallejo, who'd been living in Weslaco, was indicted in 2009 and arrested last October.

A South Texas truck company owner in 2005 pleaded guilty to making arrangements to deliver the cocaine to New York. Officials say Noel Exinia of La Feria was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison.
