Ohio officer used stun gun on 9-year-old boy

MOUNT STERLING, OH

The Columbus Dispatch reports details of the incident were released Monday. The Mount Sterling officer went to the boy's home on a truancy complaint last week. He says the child's mother warned the boy, weighing at least 200 pounds, to obey the officer or he'd be shocked.

An attorney for the mother says she didn't expect her son would be shocked.

Also on Monday, police Chief Mike McCoy resigned, citing budgetary problems. He'd been suspended for not reporting the shocking to the mayor, and officers are no longer working.
