Man pistol-whipped during attempted robbery

HOUSTON

It happened just after 1am in the parking lot of a Conoco gas station on Homestead near East Crosstimbers.

Officers said the victims came out of the store and were walking toward their car when two armed men stopped them and held up at gunpoint, demanding money.

One of the gunmen pistol-whipped one of the victims when he apparently talked back, officials said.

The victims drove to their home on Carothers Street off Homestead and called 911. The injured victim was transported to LBJ Hospital with a gash to his head.

According to authorities, the robbers did not get anything from the victims. They fled the scene. They are described only as black males.
