Houston native John Goodman is accused of crashing his Bentley into another car in Palm Beach County in 2010, killing a recent college graduate.
Lawyers believe Goodman legally adopted his 42-year-old girlfriend, Heather Hutchins, in order to shield his assets from a civil suit.
The case has garnered nationwide media attention. The judge had to call for reinforcements after many of the 100 summoned jurors admitted to bias or close ties to Goodman.
Only 38 potential jurors have survived the initial round of jury selection.
