Two Katy-area banks robbed hours apart

HOUSTON

Detectives say around 3:39pm, a man walked into a credit union in the 23100 block of Cinco Ranch Boulevard and began discussing an account when he slid a note saying it was a bank robbery to the teller. The teller complied and the suspect left the building and was last seen headed northeast on South Fry Road.

The suspect did not display a weapon.

Then around 5:40pm, another Katy-area bank, this one in the 400 block of Mason Road, was robbed.

In both robberies, witnesses gave a similar description of the suspect: A white or Hispanic man wearing an orange University of Texas baseball cap with a gray shirt. He is about 6 feet tall, has brown eyes and weighs approximately 200 pounds.

Fort Bend County is investigating the first robbery, and Harris County is handling the other. The FBI is investigating both.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect's identity is asked to contact the Fort Bend Crime Stoppers, Inc. at 281-342-TIPS (8477) or the Harris County Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
