Man found gunned down in west Houston street

HOUSTON

Police say the victim, Reza Kheshtnia, was returning home from work when his vehicle was blocked in by unknown suspects in the 2700 block of Ashford Oak Drive. There was an exchange of gunfire and Kheshtnia was struck several times.

The suspects then fled the scene in Kheshtnia's vehicle, which was later recovered in the 900 block of Threadneedle. It is believed at least one suspect was wounded during the exchange of gunfire.

A homeowner says he heard gunshots, and then heard a man crying in the distance and a car driving off. The homeowner walked out onto and found a body.

Kheshtnia, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, police say the motive for the shooting appears to be robbery.
