Nelson Melgar, 44, is charged with indecency with a child. According to court documents, a 12-year-old girl told police that in July 2011, when she was 11 years old, she spent the night at the Pasadena home of some friends.
The girl told police that she was awakened in the middle of the night to discover Melgar with his hand under her shirt, touching her breast. She said the same thing happened again several weeks later when she again spent the night at Melgar's home. She no longer stays over at the home.
The victim identified Melgar from a police photo lineup. Bail has been set at $80,000.
