Family pleads for help to find suspects after man fatally shot behind his home

HOUSTON

It was just 10 days ago that the husband, father and grandfather was shot to death outside his own home. Now his family and investigators are looking for more information.

On February 18, detectives say Luna closed down his casino-style game room and arrived at his home in the 14000 block of Morinscott just before 2am. That's when investigators say several suspects approached him, and a struggle ensued in his own back driveway. At least two shots were fired, hitting Luna in the head and abdomen.

Members of Luna's family say they heard him banging on the garage door before they discovered him lying in the driveway. Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots, but were unable to provide suspect or vehicle information.

Luna leaves behind a wife, two daughters, and a grandson. His family is understandably distraught and pleading for help.

"They don't deserve to be out there. They're forgiven in my heart and in my family's heart, but they still don't deserve to be out there. Anything will help," said Luna's daughter, Yanett Luna.

Harris County investigators aren't sure of a motive and they say all that was taken that night was Luna's cell phone.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect or suspects is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
