DPS has now confirmed the Rangers are conducting that investigation at the request of the district attorney.
DPS won't answer questions and we can't get through to the DA's office, but we are led to believe this investigation will center on the DA's inquiry into the private lives of grand jurors. Those grand jurors were investigating her office.
We reported earlier this week that the Rangers and the FBI launched a new investigation into how far the DA's office went in examining grand jurors charged with investigating her office. When asked her earlier this week, Lykos' office denied knowledge of an investigation but pledged cooperation.
