David B. Webb appeared Thursday before a magistrate in Houston, who ordered him held pending a detention hearing.
Webb was indicted Jan. 26 and charged with production of false identification and possession of false ID. He allegedly flashed bogus ID to real agents on Dec. 13.
Investigators say Webb, who was arrested Wednesday, claimed to be part of a canine unit and spoke to children about not using drugs. He operates a dog-training company.
Webb had no comment in court and did not immediately have an attorney.
The Houston Chronicle (http://bit.ly/yorplN ) reports Webb was previously charged in Harris County with imitating a tactical officer, but that case was settled by deferred adjudication.
