Rain helps ease local drought, but more needed

Good news on the local drought front. After last week's rain, NOAA shows that most of Houston and Harris County are in the lowest drought category of 'moderate.'

Eyewitness News Meteorologist Travis Herzog says there are still parts of our viewing area that are in an 'exceptional' drought, including Grimes, Montgomery, Walker and Washington Counties, so we still need some rain to fall across parts of the viewing area. According to the forecast, we could see some over the next few days.
