The Department of Public Safety says the Kwik Kar Lube and Tune on Richmond and Yorktown put new inspection stickers on at least 10 vehicles without performing a full inspection. Investigators started surveillance on the shop after receiving a complaint.
They say employees attached the analyzer to vehicles but did not do a proper inspection. DPS warns drivers to always ask for an inspection report on their vehicles, including the VIN.
You should also get a sticker which expires one year from the month your vehicle is inspected. If the inspection costs more or less than $39, there could be a problem.
