An HPD officer was chasing after the driver of a van which was reported stolen. The suspect sped down the East Freeway around 2am. The driver eventually crashed outside an apartment complex on Normandy and La Rochelle.
The driver managed to jump out of the minivan even though he had crashed head-on into a wrought iron fence. HPD, Harris County deputies and K-9 units searched for the man but he was never found.
