Multiple armed and masked men rob Galleria area bank

HOUSTON

They hit the Prosperity Bank on San Felipe and Bancroft just after 10am. The FBI says at least four men are responsible. Three went inside the bank and at least one waited inside the stolen getaway vehicle.

Of the three men who went inside, the FBI says one jumped the counter while the other two guarded the customer and other employees in the bank at the time. The men were armed with semi-automatic pistols. No one was physically hurt during the robbery.

The suspects did get away with an undisclosed amount of cash. The stolen getaway car was found a short distance away from the bank.

The FBI says it is an ongoing investigation and they are trying to determine if these suspects are responsible for any of the other take-over style robberies in the past couple of months.

According to the FBI, there have been 13 bank robberies in Houston/Harris County so far this year, compared with seven last year.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. You could earn a $5,000 cash reward.
