Family, friends begin to say goodbye to fallen Marine

HOUSTON

Corporal Joseph Logan, 22, and five other Marines were killed when their helicopter crashed in Afghanistan's Helmand Province on January 19. Logan was on his second deployment to Afghanistan when he died. He graduated from Willis High School and his family has a history of military service.

His casket arrived at Bush Intercontinental Airport Monday and patriot guard riders escorted his hearse up Interstate 45 and through Lake Conroe neighborhood where he grew up. Several people holding flags along the hearse route.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for today, from 6 to 8pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis. Corporal Logan's visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8pm at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis.

The funeral will be Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 3pm at the north Montgomery County Community Center, 600 Gerald St. in Willis.
