Houston area still celebrating Lunar New Year

HOUSTON

There were two big celebrations in the Houston area Saturday.

Kids performed traditional dances at the Chinese Community Center in southwest Houston.

There was food, shopping and a playground full of games and prizes for children.

A new addition this year was Fu Dai -- a mystery bag of luck said to tell the owner's astrological fortune.

Alief is hosting its own Texas Lunar Festival.

An estimated 20.000 people came out to enjoy Chinese food and music in the sunshine at Amity Park.

There were also vendors selling jewelry and other crafts.

This is the festival's 16th year.
