Suspect in NE Harris Co. bank robbery arrested

HOUSTON

It happened around 4pm Friday at the Community Bank of Texas off F.M. 2100 near Huffman.

Harris County Sheriff's Office officials tell us the suspect used an improvised device that could possibly ignite. They say it wasn't sophisticated enough to be considered a bomb.

The suspect allegedly got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Once a description of the suspect's vehicle was broadcasted, HCSO deputies and troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety were able to locate the suspect and arrest him.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators are interviewing witnesses and looking into the possibility that the suspect in this robbery may be connected to other area robberies.

The man's name has not been released.
