Suspect sought in attempted armed robbery

HOUSTON

On January 18 at around 1:00pm, a black male suspect attempted to rob a store located on the 5200 block of Aldine Mail Route in north Harris County. Store employees reported the suspect entering the store prior to the attempted robbery. The suspect was reportedly inquiring about hair clippers, and left the store without making a purchase.

The same black male suspect entered the store about an hour later and waited for the customers to leave before he approached the check-out counter. The suspect placed a small brown bag and a knife on the counter and demanded the cash from the registers. The suspect threatened to hurt the victim if she failed to comply with his demands. The victim then grabbed a small electronic device from the counter and threatened the suspect with it. He then picked up his bag and knife and fled the scene on foot, with no cash.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 25-35 years old, 5 foot 7 to 5 foot 10, weighing 170-190 lbs. At the time of the offense he was wearing a dark-colored jacket, a dark-colored ball cap and glasses.

Surveillance cameras captured the incident on video.
