Darius Jamarr Graves, 29, is charged with aggravated assault following an incident on January 19. A woman told police Graves was assaulting her when Lonnie Jordan stepped in and told him to leave her alone. That's when Graves allegedly began punching Jordan, and stomping on his face after he fell to the ground.
Jordan was unresponsive when he was transported to Ben Taub Hospital, according to court documents. As of Monday, he remained in a coma and required a breathing tube due to multiple fractures to his face.
Graves has prior felony convictions. No bond has been set in the case.
