Investigators say late Saturday night, police say Liliana Yamileth Zuniga lost control of her SUV and slammed into a concrete barrier on the North Loop at the Northwest Freeway. Blanca Lopez, 6, was thrown from the vehicle and killed. Police say she was not properly restrained.
Lopez was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Five other passengers including another child were also taken transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Zuniga, 26, is charged with intoxication manslaughter.
