Stolen neighborhood Christmas tree may have been found

HOUSTON

Residents in Montrose's Hyde Park say their neighborhood Christmas tree suddenly disappeared just before neighbors were about to decorate.

But hours after Eyewitness News aired the story on Monday afternoon, residents say they were contacted by the person who took the tree that was located on the corner of Waugh and Hyde Park. That caller claimed to have just been watching over it and plans on giving it back.

The 10-foot tree, which was valued at about $150, was donated by Greek restaurant Niko Niko's. The eatery already had already donated a second tree.
