Accused drunk driver charged with impersonating deputy

HOUSTON

It was around 2am Tuesday when police pulled over Marcus Goree on suspicion of driving drunk in the parking lot of a Texaco station at Main St. near Buffalo Speedway. Police say they noticed a badge in his car and say Goree claimed to be a sheriff's deputy.

Police say Goree told officers they would have to kill him, and reached under his seat, which lead to the standoff.

After a short time, SWAT officers shot out a window, threw in pepper spray, and Goree was arrested.

Goree, 31, faces charges of impersonating a public servant and driving while intoxicated. Bond has been set at $15,000 total.
