New details in store clerk's murder

We have new details in the 2009 murder of a check cashing store clerk.

Homicide investigators revealed Francelia Palomares was violently sexually assaulted by someone she knew before she was strangled on November 6, 2009. This happened at the Dolex Dollar Express along Fulton near the North Loop.

Police say an undisclosed number of items were stolen from the scene but officer will not say what was taken.

"Her routine was mostly from school to work back to her room doing her home work. She was thoroughly an innocent person. She never hurt anybody to be able to deserve this," said the victim's brother, Adrian Palomares.

Police ask anyone with information about the Palomares murder to contact Crime Stoppers.
