November 10, 2011 10:00:00 PM PST
This is a great weekend for entertainment. If you are a veteran, we have a free meal plus a night at the symphony. But first we begin with a free event Friday night everyone can enjoy.

Friday night and Saturday night, you can watch some of the best in the circus business perform at the Miller Outdoor Theatre. The show is called "Boom Town" and preformed by the Cirque Mechanics. It's their newest creation based in an 1865 mining town full of unexpected events, excitement and adventure of the Old West. The show starts 7:30pm both nights and it's free --advanced tickets are available.

Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers will celebrate the grand openings of the chain's two new restaurants in the Houston area next week on Wednesday, November 16. The two new locations are in Cypress at 26032 Northwest Freeway and in Pearland at 9527 Broadway. The first dine-in 100 customers get a free T-shirt and free box combo meal voucher. Raising Cane's opens at 10:30am.

Kick off the holiday season at the Galleria for the 23rd annual tree lighting and ice spectacular presented by Cadillac this Saturday, Nov. 12at 6pm. At Ice at the Galleria, the 55-foot Christmas tree featuring 450,000 twinkling lights and 5,000 ornaments will light up the mall during the annual 30-minute tree lighting show and ice spectacular. The holiday event will also feature performances by 2008 American Idol finalist Danny Gokey along with ice and musical entertainment. Santa Claus will also be on hand to light the tree.

There are many freebies for veterans Friday, but this Sunday there is a special one at McCormick & Schmick's seafood restaurants. Veterans will get a free lunch or dinner entrée. Veterans must present proper ID and space is limited, so reservations are recommended. There are three McCormick & Schmick's seafood restaurants in Houston.

In honor of Veterans Day, the Houston Symphony would like to extend a special offer for military veterans. All veterans are invited to hear Brahms' second symphony free this Saturday night or Sunday afternoon. Plus, bring your family and friends for only $11 each. To take advantage of this offer, call the Houston Symphony at 713-224-7575 and mention that you're a U.S. veteran to reserve your free ticket.
