The shootout happened on South Post Oak Rd. near Allum.
Police say it started with a confrontation Saturday evening when an armed man arrived at a house looking for another man.
He left the home, but followed the wife of one of the men inside the house as she went outside. She called her husband and he came to the parking lot with his gun.
Police say the men got into a gun battle and shot each other.
One died instantly. The other was able to get into his car and drive a short distance down Allum until he crashed his car and died.
Police are still trying to piece together the connection between the men.
The wife wasn't hurt during the shooting.
