Authorities haven't revealed the identities of the pair who died in the 4 a.m. Thursday fire at the Harbor View apartment complex in downtown Rockport, 25 miles northeast of Corpus Christi.
Rockport police Lt. Larry Sinclair tells the Corpus Christi Caller-Times that some tenants of the building were forced to leap from second-floor windows as the flames spread through the building.
He says one woman was taken to Christus Spohn Hospital-Memorial in Corpus Christi for treatment of burns, while a few others were treated at the scene for minor injuries and smoke inhalation.
No cause has been determined.
