The accident happened around 10am. According to authorities, a truck driving eastbound in the 1000 block of Greens Road near W. Hardy hit a 16-year-old girl on a bicycle. Two cars ahead of the truck managed to avoid the girl, but the truck could not.
The girl died at a local hospital. Her identity has not been released.
The truck driver has not been ticketed because police say the bicyclist appears to be at fault as she darted into traffic. The investigation is continuing.
