The accident happened around 10:30pm Friday on Highway 6 at Yorktown Crossing Parkway.
The girl was with a group of teens walking across Highway 6. Officials said they were outside of designated crosswalks when a sports utility vehicle struck the girl.
Life Flight transported the girl to Ben Taub General Hospital. She is expected to recover.
The driver of the SUV stopped and was questioned by investigators. He is not expected to face any charges.
