Man robbed after placing online ad to buy iPad

HOUSTON

On October 7, during the early evening hours, police say the victim was robbed at gunpoint outside of a restaurant located on the 11600 block of the Southwest Freeway. The victim had placed an ad on Craigslist looking to purchase an Apple iPad. On October 6, the two suspects contacted the victim stating that they had two iPads available for purchase, and made arrangements to meet at the above location.

According to authorities, the victim exited his vehicle in the restaurant parking lot and walked toward the entrance of the business. Prior to entering the building, two unknown male suspects approached him from behind, forced him to the ground, and began to beat him with a pistol and closed fists. During the assault, police say one of the suspects reached into his pocket and stole and indeterminate amount of cash.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 18-25 years old, 5 foot 7, weighing 155 lbs with short cropped hair. The suspect made use of the alias 'Jeff.'

The second suspect is described as a black male, 18-25 years ole, 5 foot 7, weighing 145 lbs.
