Man charged after allegedly running over wife

HOUSTON

According to court documents, Jasmine Jones told a Harris County Sheriff's deputy that on August 20 she and her husband, Willie Miller McClain, were having an argument at their home in the 1800 block of Live Oak Hill. The couple was reportedly arguing over their car when McClain got angry and jumped in the vehicle to drive away.

Jones said that as her husband started to drive off, she tried to hold on to the door handle, fell to the ground and McClain ran over her and sped off. She said she screamed in pain as he ran over her arm and both her legs, but McClain didn't stop to check on her.

Bail for the felony charge of failure to stop and render aid has been set at $5,000.
