It happened around 7:20pm between Broadway St. and Alamo St.
According to the El Campo Police Department, the duo was either walking along the railroad tracks or crossing the tracks when a westbound Kansas City Southern freight train hit them.
Life Flight was called to the scene. Nancy Barns, 28, was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston with unknown injuries.
Willie Gonzalez, 44, was taken to El Campo Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
No additional details were immediately available.
