At around 2:50am, Pearland police and EMS were called out to an apartment complex at 3512 E. Broadway about a shooting. When they arrived, they found a 16-year-old male, identified as Justin Holmes, who had been shot.
Police say Holmes was conscious and breathing, but refused to reveal the identity of his shooter or any details about the incident.
Holmes was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he later died.
Detectives learned that Holmes had been out with people, who they've not identified, and returned home after he'd been shot. At this point, it's not clear where the actual shooting took place.
