Fire destroys vacant house in Conroe

Flames ate through the roof of a vacant house in Conroe overnight.

A passer-by saw the fire shooting out of the house on South 10th Street and called 9-1-1. Firefighters saved the nearby homes in the nick of time.

Investigators aren't sure what sparked the fire, but they say fires like this is why there is so much concern today about the high winds, which could turn a house fire into an inferno.
