Woman accused of hitting 65-year-old stepmom with lead pipe

HOUSTON

On September 14, according to court documents, Charlene Rogers, 54, got into an argument with her stepmother at a home in the 9200 block of Colleen. The woman reportedly told Rogers to leave, and the confrontation turned physical.

The stepmother told police that Rogers said, "I got something for you" and went out to her room to retrieve a metal pipe. The stepmother left the house and went out to her vehicle, but she says Rogers came after her, hitting her with the pipe.

Rogers told police she armed herself with the lead pipe and followed her stepmother to her vehicle and struck her because she believed her stepmother was going to get a gun. Rogers claimed the attack was self-defense.

Rogers has been charged with injury to an elderly individual. No bond has been set for the third-degree felony charge.
