Some homeowners bought houses in Telfair under the assumption that a high school would be built on the corner of University and Chatham.
"You get caught up in hoping that we're going to have a high school right here and the kids don't have to travel six-and-a-half miles on the school bus to get to the school," Telfair resident Laurie Johnson said.
Fort Bend ISD says, right now, there is no funding to build anything on the site, and that it's not even sure what will go there. It could be a school or an administration building.
