Dozens of soldiers were welcomed home Saturday in Conroe.

Friends and family cheered as 77 soldiers from the 1-158th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion arrived home after a year-long deployment to Iraq.

Patriot Guard riders escorted the soldiers from Bush Intercontinental Airport to the welcome ceremony at an Army reserve hangar in Conroe.

Helicopters flown by the battalion participated in more than 2,700 successful missions in Iraq in the past year.
