TxDOT is shutting down multiple lanes of I-45 both northbound and southbound between Tidwell and the 610 North Loop from 10pm to 5am nightly through Monday.
The first closure will be the southbound lanes of I-45 North from Tidwell to 610. Also closed will be the Airline and Tidwell entrance ramps and Airline and Crosstimbers exit ramps. Drivers can detour to the next entrance or exit ramp to get to the mainlanes or frontage road.
Once that's complete, crews will reopen the southbound mainles and ramps and close the northbound lanes of I-45 north from 610 to Tidwell as wellas the Crosstimbers entrance ramp and Crosstimbers and Airline exit ramps. Drivers can detour to the next available entrance or exit ramp to access the mainlanes or frontage road.
Crews will also close one eastbound lane on the 610 North Loop ramp to I-45 North on Sunday at 5am until Monday at 5am. The Crosstimbers, Airline and Tidwell intersections at I-45 North will also be closed. If you're traveling these roads, you'll have to turn right onto the frontage road and U-turn at the next open intersection.
The closures will alternate between the mainlanes and at least one mainlane will be open at all times. Police officers help with traffic flow.
Crews are replacing the existing asphalt pavement with new asphalt and striping.
