According to officials, a black pickup truck ran into a red sports utility vehicle. Police said the driver of the red SUV was intoxicated.
One person was ejected and taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. It is unclear which vehicle that person was in.
Another person was rushed to the hospital with head injuries.
All westbound lanes were blocked for several hours while police investigated the scene.
