Fort Bend deputies investigating home invasion robbery, assault

HOUSTON

The home invasion robbery happened around 9:30pm Friday in the 8200 block of Wind Grove Ct. in the Mission Glen subdivision.

The husband and wife who live in the home told deputies they answered a knock on the door and "three black teenagers" wearing black ski masks rushed into the house with handguns, demanding money.

Officials said the husband was struck on the head by one of the suspects, and the wife said she was strangled by another. The husband was later transported to West Houston Hospital by Community Fire/EMS. The wife was evaluated by the EMS, but authorities said she refused to be transported.

The trio forced the couple upstairs and forced the husband to the floor. They struck him on the head and also shot him with a TASER several times, the wife said.

One of them also fired a round from his handgun into the floor, officials said. What appeared to be a .45-caliber shell was later retrieved by detectives.

The wife said the culprits took $800 in cash and a bag loaded with Nigerian wraps valued at about $1,000. A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said the wraps are expensive pieces of clothing, often used in formal ceremonies. He emphasized that the dollar amount was set by the victims, who appear to be Nigerian.

According to investigators, one of the robbers was a female. The wife said she could tell by the sound of the suspect's voice. The other two are believed to be male.
