Firefighters say an air conditioning unit overheated and sparked a small fire at a hotel near the Houston Galleria.

It happened around 11:30pm Saturday at the Sheraton Suites on the West Loop near Westheimer.

Firefighters quickly found the source and extinguished the fire. They said an A/C unit on the roof overheated. It was still running and sending smoke through the vents into the hotel.

At least a dozen hotel guests were briefly evacuated from their rooms, but no one was hurt.
