Restaurant owner honored for actions after 9/11 joke

HOUSTON

On Sunday September 11th, the words "Happy September 11th" were written on his take out box, along with a picture of a plane flying toward two tall towers. The owner of Petrol Station quickly fired the employee as soon as he found out about it. He also promised to have all his employees go through sensitivity training.

That owner is now being rewarded for his quick reaction. The national organization Tolerance, Americanism, Patriotism is awarding Ben Fullelove its first ever award for tolerance.

"True patriots are tolerant and the action that occurred at Petrol Station on 9-11 demonstrate a greater need for uniting our country. While we cannot always prevent these acts from occuring, we can recognize those citizens who take action to do what is morally right," the organization said.
