The Texas Department of Transportation unveiled a new list of the state's most congested roadway segments. This year they used actual traffic speed, rather than just the number of cars, to make their list.
According to the survey the stretch of I-45 from Beltway 8 to the North Loop is the busiest stretch, causing more than $4.5 million in delays, costing more than $98 million a year.
The Southwest Freeway between the Loop and Highway 288 was second. I-45 from the South Loop to I-10 was in sixth place followed by the stretch from I-10 to the North Loop in seventh. The Eastex Freeway from I-10 to 288 is the tenth busiest.
