The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says it seized approximately 10,000 marijuana plants Tuesday that were found growing in the National Forest.

The plants were being cultivated in the National Forest off of FM 1375 near FM 149, according to the MCSO. They received a tip regarding the crop and worked with multiple agencies in locating and seizing the plants.

MCSO says the marijuana growing operation was well-planned and similar to grows discovered in other parts of the country.

Other evidence seized included chemicals, hoses, tools and other growing materials.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made, said MCSO.
