Houston Police Department officers were called to the Sunset Valley Apartments in the 6700 block of Fairway around 8pm Monday.
Family members had not heard from the man recently and were concerned for his safety. They went by his apartment and found his body.
According to police, the man suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, his identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Family members and possible witnesses were questioned at the scene, but no charges have been filed.
