The Coast Guard helped rescue a man off a motor tanker off Galeston after he began experiencing extreme stomach pains late Sunday night.

The man was aboard a motor tanker that was about 178 miles off the shore of Galveston, so the Coast Guard Air Station Houston launched its MH-65C Dolphion rescue helicopter and the Air Station Corpus Christi launched a HU-25 Falcon jet and arrived at the scene to take the man back to shore.

The man was transported to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston to receive medical care. His condition was not immediately available.
