Man shot, killed during robbery in SW Houston

A man was shot during a robbery and then left to die on a southwest Houston street last night.

The victim, Alex Dewayne Wallace, 29, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say at aroud 9pm Monday, Wallace was leaving a friend's apartment in the 7500 block of South Gessner near Triola when he was confronted by three unknown male suspects who demanded cash. One of the suspects began shooting at Wallace and he was struck several times. The three suspects then fled the scene.

Several motorists drove by the scene and saw the man's body lying in the grass. The suspects remain on the loose.

Two of the suspects are described only as black males. The third is described only as a light-skinned black or Hispanic male.
