Both victims were in stable condition Sunday morning at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
The shootings happened around 10pm Saturday at Newport on the Lake Apartments in the 1800 block of Barker-Cypress at S. Parkview.
Houston police said a resident was moving out of the complex when he and a friend were approached by four male suspects in their late teens or early 20s.
According to investigators, the suspects demanded money, wallets and a cell phone. When the men handed it over, one of the suspects reportedly pulled out a small pistol and started shooting.
One of the victims was shot multiple times in the chest. The other was shot in the foot, officials said.
Neighbors said two of the suspects returned to the scene after police arrived and were pointed out to police.
Police confirmed they have two persons of interest in custody. No charges have been filed.
